It wasn’t pretty but the LSU football team improves to 10-2 on the year after beating Arkansas 20-13 in Fayetteville on Friday.   The win keeps LSU’s faint SEC title and BCS bowl game hopes alive while the Razorbacks end a deeply disappointing season below the .500 mark and without a bowl invitation.

In some other college football action Friday, Nebraska beats Iowa 13-9 to secure a spot in the Big 10 championship game.   Washington State beat Washington in overtime 31-28 to break a long losing streak in that rivalry and get its third win of the year.

West Virginia beat Iowa State to become bowl eligible and Kent State finishes the regular season 11-1 with a 28-6 win over Ohio.
