Tim Tebow back in the NFL, Gator news, NBA and NHL playoffs, NASCAR and MLB as well in our Monday Sports Update…
** Several reports say former Gator and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow will sign a one year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles to get back into the NFL.
** Not good news for the current Gator football program as cornerback JC Jackson is arrested and charged with armed robbery. Jackson allegedly was one of three men who broke into an apartment late Saturday night.
** The Gator baseball team sweeps Mississippi State after winning 10-5 yesterday. Florida is now 31-10 and will host Bethune Cookman tomorrow.
** The NHL playoffs continue with three games on tap for tonight. Montreal is the team that is the closest to advancing after the Canadians took a 3-0 lead over Ottawa with a win yesterday.
** The NBA playoffs are underway as well. Two games will be played today as Milwaukee visits Chicago with the Bulls up 1-0 and New Orleans is at Golden State with the Warriors up 1-0.
** Matt Kenseth ends a 51 race winless drought with a win at the NASCAR race in Bristol on Sunday. Jeff Gordon finished second.
** In big league baseball, the New York Yankees complete a sweep of Tampa Bay with a 5-3 Sunday and the New York Mets complete a sweep of Miami with a 7-6 win. Atlanta downs Toronto as well 5-2. The Rays, Marlins and Braves are all off today.
