WRUF-AM, AM850, is a 5,000 watt news/talk/sports station serving Gainesville and the surrounding area. AM850 features informative talk shows with nationally known personalities such as Dr. Joy Browne, Jim Cramer and Larry King. Local programming includes call-in talk shows focusing on community issues and Gators sports, as well as award winning news and sports coverage. WRUF-AM targets informed listeners between the ages of 25 and 54.

WRUF-FM, ROCK104, is a 100,000 watt rock station. The signal covers two states (North Florida and South Georgia), comprising more then 24 counties. Our primary coverage area is the Arbitron defined metro of Gainesville-Ocala, with an emphasis on adults 25-34 years of age.

WRUF-AM and WRUF-FM are owned by the University of Florida, and licensed to the Board of Trustees. Although we are owned by the university, we receive no funding from either the state or Federal Government, and exist exclusively from revenue generated by commercials. All expenses (salaries, equipment, utilities, etc) are paid from funds generated by commercial advertising.

As a part of the College of Journalism and Communications, WRUF-AM/FM both share the special characteristic of offering an educational opportunity at a commercial radio station in a university environment. Unlike the vast majority of campus radio stations in the United States, WRUF-AM/FM operates with a commercial license.
