Gator Women’s Hoops Opens SEC Play With Win

The Florida women’s basketball team opens SEC play with a win by beating Mississippi State 82-72 at home Thursday night.   Florida is now 11-3 overall.

Florida guard Cassie Peoples scores 23 points to lead Florida in the win.   The Gators defensively played an aggressive zone defense for most of the night that caused 22 turnovers in the game that helped the team get transition looks at the other end.

Senior guard Jaterra Bonds added 18 points for the Gators, who next play at nationally ranked Kentucky on Sunday.
