Both the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Miami Dolphins looked to win their second consecutive game for the first time since last year on Sunday. With the help of Jaguar quarterback Blake Bortles, the Dolphins were able to overcome poor offensive play to beat the Jaguars, 27-13.
The Jaguars now move to 1-7 on the year. The Dolphins improve to 4-3.
Bortles finished with 221 yards and a touchdown, but two interceptions that were returned for touchdowns gave the Dolphins the lead. The Jaguar offense moved the ball well in the first half, but costly penalties on fourth down disallowed Josh Scobee from making several field goals.
The Jaguar defense was able to contain Miami’s offense in the first half, only allowing three yards in the first quarter and 56 in the half. Yet, the Dolphins found their way in the second half with a passing touchdown and several field goals from former Gator Caleb Sturgis.
The Jags will travel next week to Cincinnati to face the Bengals. The Fins will be back home against the San Diego Chargers.

“I think this is going to be the biggest game of the year for our program,” said Mike Pouncey about the Florida-Georgia game. “Obviously we have been struggling a bit, but once a Gator always a Gator and just proud with the effort they put forth.”
“I think we are going to come out ready to play,” said Jelani Jenkins about the Florida-Georgia game.
Jenkins continues with comments about his former coach, “Whatever is going on there we’ll definitely fix. I have complete faith in Muschamp.”
Josh Evans talked about staying with your team in tough times. “You always want to stick with your team. You don’t want to discourage anyone, you want to keep motivating them,” Evans said.
