Adrian Beltre had three hits and drove in four runs to help the Texas Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 6-5 Monday night.   Texas maintains a five and a half game lead over Oakland in the AL West after the A’s blank Cleveland 3-0.  The Rays fall behind Baltimore by half a game for the AL wild card lead after the Orioles nip Chicago 4-3.

In other AL games, Felix Hernandez throws another complete game as Seattle nips Minnesota 1-0 while Toronto downs New York 8-7 and Boston beats Kansas City 5-1.

In the National League, Atlanta loses 3-0 to San Diego and sees its wild card lead reduced to two games over St.Louis as the Cardinals nip fading Pittsburgh 4-3.   Cincinnati edges Arizona 3-2; Colorado pounds Los Angeles 10-0 in Josh Beckett’s first start for LA and Milwaukee blows out Chicago 15-4.
