Braves,Marlins And Rays All Lose Monday In MLB

The Atlanta Braves keep a five and a half game wild card lead over the St.Louis Cardinals in the National League despite losing 5-0 to Milwaukee Monday.   The Cardinals also lost 6-4 to San Diego.

In other NL games, Cincinnati tops Pittsburgh 5-3 to send the Pirates to their fifth straight loss; Arizona blanks Los Angeles 1-0 and San Francisco nips Colorado 9-8.   Houston blanks Chicago 1-0; Washington tops New York 5-3 and Philadelphia wins its sixth straight to get to the .500 mark for the season by beating Miami 9-7.

In the American League, Tampa Bay falls two games behind in the AL East race after losing 9-2 to the Baltimore Orioles.   The O’s are in a first place tie with New York after the Yankees lose 4-3 at Boston.

In other AL games, Detroit moves two games behind Chicago in the AL Central after a 5-3 win over the White Sox; Oakland maintains the wild card lead after beating Los Angeles 6-5; Texas downs Cleveland 6-4; Seattle nips Toronto 4-3 and Kansas City blasts Minnesota 9-1.
