** Gator men’s basketball coach Billy Donovan says he received a few calls from a couple of NBA teams to gauge his interest in coaching in the NBA but he says he plans to be back at Florida next year.
** The SEC Baseball Tournament continues today. Ole Miss plays Arkansas in an elimination game at 4pm and Florida will face Mississippi State in an elimination game right after.
** NCAA Super Regionals have begun in softball. Alabama beat Nebraska 6-5 and is now one win away from the College World Series. Michigan blasts FSU 17-3 in that opening game. Georgia and Tennessee play today against Baylor and Oklahoma, respectively. Florida plays home against Washington starting Saturday.
** The new class of the College Football Hall of Fame has been announced and among the new inductees is Ole Miss tight end Wesley Walls and Alabama linebacker Derrick Thomas. Offensive lineman Tony Boselli and running back LaDainian Tomlinson are also among those voted in this year.
** The NBA playoffs continue this weekend; Miami will host Indiana and Oklahoma City will host San Antonio.
** In the NHL playoffs, Montreal rallies to beat the New York Rangers 3-2 in overtime to cut New York’s lead to 2-1 in that series. The LA Kings will host Chicago with that series tied at 1-1.
** In baseball, Tampa Bay got a walk off three run homer by Sean Rodriguez to beat Oakland 5-2. Miami beat Philadelphia 4-3 and Atlanta nips Milwaukee 5-4. The Rays begin a series at home with Boston; Miami hosts Milwaukee and Atlanta hosts Colorado.
** Some high school football spring games tonight finds Eastside playing Trenton; PK Yonge facing Crescent City and Gainesville High playing Orlando Dr. Phillips.
