Published reports Wednesday say Missouri has informally agreed to join the SEC but the SEC is denying the claim.
The Birmingham News and the Kansas City Star newspapers reported that the SEC had either offered Missouri a spot in the conference or that the issue was already agreed to; however, SEC spokesperson Charles Bloom has said the SEC has not formally or informally done anything with Missouri.
In another rather shocking move, the Pac 12 has said it will not expand any further at this time. Sources have said that one of the reasons the league would not take teams from the Big 12 in Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma was because Texas would not agree to a balanced revenue sharing plan if the league expanded.
So now it looks like the Big 12 probably will remain intact barring a Missouri and Texas A&M move but to do so will perhaps necessitate a meeting to get things back together as a conference.
There could still be expansion in the ACC as Syracuse and Pittsburgh have announced they are joining that league and Connecticut apparently also wants to join the ACC as well.
