Cain Throws Perfect Game For Giants In Win Over Astros

San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Cain throws the first perfect game in the almost 130 year history of the Giants franchise on Wednesday as the Giants at home blank the Houston Astros 10-0.

Cain did get some nice defensive help on a couple of occasions to preserve the perfect game but he was also outstanding as he struck out 14 Astros.

R.A. Dickey of the New York Mets tossed a one hitter as the New York Mets rip the Tampa Bay Rays 9-1.   A slow roller to third hit by B.J. Upton could not be handled in the first inning and it was ruled a hit and that was the only hit given up by Dickey; the Mets are going to appeal to Major League Baseball to overturn the ruling on the field but that is rarely done.

In other action, the New York Yankees down Atlanta 3-2 and Boston rips Miami 10-2.
