The Heat keep rolling, Tiger is a winner again, lots of Gator sports and more in our Monday Sports News and Notes…
** The Miami Heat extend their winning streak to 18 games after beating the Indiana Pacers 105-91. The Orlando Magic get a rare win, beating Philadelphia 99-91.
** Tiger Woods wins his 77th PGA Tour championship Sunday in the Cadillac Championship at Doral in Florida. He has now won five tournaments in the last year.
** Matt Kenseth not only celebrated a birthday, but also a NASCAR win as he takes the checkered flag at the Las Vegas Speedway. Kasey Kahne is second and Brad Keselowski finished third.
** In Gator news, the softball team took two of three from Auburn to open SEC play; UF won 2-0 on Sunday.
** Texas A&M won the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament with a 75-67 win over Kentucky.
** A couple of teams have punched their tickets to the NCAA Men’s Tournament; Liberty is the upset winner in the Big South Conference, beating Charleston Southern to go to the NCAA Tournament with 20 losses. Belmont, Creighton, Harvard and Florida Gulf Coast are the other teams going dancing at this point.
