The NFL playoffs, a win for Florida women’s basketball, NBA and some baseball news too in our Monday Sports Update…
** The first weekend of the NFL playoffs is in the books with Baltimore, Indianapolis, Dallas and Carolina coming out victorious. Next week’s games have Baltimore at New England and Indy at Denver in the AFC while the NFC has Carolina at Seattle and Dallas at Green Bay.
** One week to go before college football’s national title game in Dallas between Oregon and Ohio State.
** The Florida women’s basketball team evens its SEC record at 1-1 with a 63-50 road win at Auburn on Sunday. Florida will host Ole Miss Thursday.
** In the NBA, Miami tops Brooklyn 88-84 but the Heat are still five games under .500 for the season. Both Miami and Orlando have the day off today.
** Baseball announces its 2015 Hall of Fame class tomorrow. A star studded field is eligible with names like Randy Johnson, John Smoltz, Pedro Martinez, Mike Piazza and others on the ballot this year.
