Gator sports, NFL, NBA and more about “Deflate Gate” in our Friday Sports Update…
** A busy weekend in Gator sports. The men’s basketball team is at Ole Miss Saturday, the women host Arkansas Sunday, Gator gymnastics is at Alabama today and there is a big indoor track and field meet in the O’Connell Center too.
** The NFL and “Deflate Gate” are still very much in the news. While the NFL has been mum about the incident, both Patriots coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady deny any knowledge about footballs being under inflated during the AFC title game last week. The investigation continues.
** In men’s SEC hoops last night, Arkansas gets a basket at the buzzer to down Alabama 93-91.
** In the NBA, reports say LA Laker guard Kobe Bryant tore his rotator cuff in a game Wednesday. He is going to be evaluated again today.
** Jeff Gordon says the 2015 racing season will be his last as a full time driver.
** In college football, Arkansas has a new offensive coordinator in Dan Enos, who leaves a head coaching gig at Central Michigan for the new job.
